When coming up with this post i was determined to not include any sort of music content for a change. So here's some music content and other miscellanea.

Sammy Baby - i found deep in many hidden and forgotten files Dave Brubeck's recording of 'That Old Black Magic'. Since i haven't really heard any other versions i thought I'd look a few up. Besides there being the well known Sinatra version there is of course Sammy Davis Jr doing personally what i think is one of the best covers ever. Normally i put vocal jazz aside but it's the shear energy in Sammy's performance that really make it. Also amusingly i found a supposedly rare 70's disco version Sammy recorded of the same song, and to me it sounds like an almost spot on impersonation of a Jim Carrey impersonation of Sammy. Weird how things loop round like that. See below for the older TV version and here for the disco-o-o-o.

..speaking of canes, Hugh Laurie in House MD. Or should i say.. Hugh Laurie don House MD. I like Schweppes but this makes it all the more sweeter.

In the news boy band Blue is reuniting for a Summer concert this year, and my mum is going berserk with excitement. She will be getting the cardboard cut-outs from the loft now *shudder*.
